On 20 May 2026, the UAE-India CEPA Council (UICC) and the UAE-India Business Council (UIBC) are hosting a speial edition of the Open Majlis to mark the fourth anniversary of the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The event brings together practitioners, policymakers, and institution-builders shaping the future of the bilateral relationship.
Four years on, the UAE-India CEPA has moved well beyond its original mandate. Bilateral trade has crossed USD 100 billion. Non-oil trade has expanded to nearly USD 70 billion. A start-up corridor has taken shape, a new Bilateral Investment Treaty is in place, and Indian institutions have opened campuses in the UAE. The agreement has demonstrated what two countries can achieve when political will, economic ambition, and institutional commitment align.
The next chapter requires more than a continuation. It requires architecture — the corridors, capital flows, regulatory rails, and innovation institutions that turn an agreement into an integrated economic relationship. This event is structured around exactly this idea, holding two conversations on the same stage: the architecture of the corridor itself, and the architecture of what the corridor is meant to unlock.
The afternoon will feature high-impact panel discussions, a booklet launch, and the signing of an MoU with the Startup Policy Forum and EBC Publishing Private Limited for the second edition of the UAE-India Start-up Series.
